A thin rock section of Peridotite was viewed by polarised light microscopy. Peridotite is an igneous rock. From the Ardnamurchan volcano, now eroded down almost to the magma chamber, from where this sample would have originally come. Contains olivine, pyroxene and some feldspar.
60 Million years old. (the most recent volcano in UK)
These colourful and interesting microscope photo pendants are 22mm in diameter and measure 34mm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant. The pendants are silver plated and supplied with an 18 inch (45cm) silver plated chain. (If you require a different length chain please put a note in the 'special instructions' box in checkout). The image has been printed onto glossy metal which is sealed underneath a glass magnifying dome. As the images are printed onto metal there are reflections from both the metal and the glass resulting in the image having more 'depth'.
Supplied in a gift box complete with a description of the image.
