Withamite from Glen Coe, Scotland rock thin section Mug (M47)

A thin rock section of Withamite was viewed by polarised light microscopy. It shows Withamite crystals in a vein in andesite. Withamite is a manganese rich variety of epidote.

From Glen Coe, Scotland, where it was discovered by a Mr. Witham. This is a very rare sample.

Bright colourful mugs printed by dye sublimation onto the highest quality mugs. Dye sublimation results in the dye penetrating the top surface of the mug, leaving a glossy finish (indistinguishable from a 'fired' mug) that is fully dishwasher-proof.
