Pyroxene from Vesuvius, Italy rock thin section Coaster (C46)

A thin rock section of Leucite was viewed by polarised light microscopy. This igneous lava rock contains leucite (dark grey) and colourful pyroxene crystals in a volcanic glass matrix.

From Vesuvius, Italy, probably from the 1944 eruption.

90mm square coasters printed by dye sublimation to give a vibrant, high gloss, scratch resistant finish.
