Eucrite from Ardnamurchan, Scotland rock thin section Cufflinks (CL65)
A thin rock section of Eucrite was viewed using crossed polarising filters. This igneous rock is from the Ardnamurchan volcano and is a type of gabbro. Forms most of the rocks you can see today in the Ardnamurchan volcanic centre. Crystalised at depth, all the lavas etc have been eroded away. Contains olivine and flow aligned feldspar, minor pyroxene.
Silver plated cufflinks with a glass dome. The image has been printed on glossy metal so that both the metal and the magnifying glass dome reflect light. This means that as you move the cufflinks the image has real depth and almost appears 'alive'. Cufflinks measure 18mm across (16mm glass dome) and 25mm deep (from the back of the swivel mount to the front of the glass dome). Supplied in a gift box with a description of the image.
